The basement bathroom is coming together oh-so-perfectly.
I fell in love with the Pottery Barn's Kensington Pivoting Mirror for our Basement Bathroom. We briefly considered buying it but but I'm really irritated with Pottery Barn. It was listed on the website for $179 US. But here in Canada it was $300+ and not on sale. I get that dollar for dollar it can't be the same, but over a $100 difference makes me mad. Don't get me started on Pottery Barn. And Restoration Hardware. (Oh how I used to love these stores) Ok, back to the reason for the post....
You see, the concept was perfect. The pivots brought the mirror out and gave a nice relief between the wall and the mirror. It was the design element I really wanted. So, Aubrey and I searched around Toronto and on the Web for Pivoting mirrors. The while walking through Home Depot we came across Pivots on their own. And they were $40!

Now it was time to find a mirror. Pre made Mirrors at Home Depot were economical, but when we brought them home they were evidently too small for the wall. So we ended up getting a custom mirror with a 2" bevel from Adanac Glass here in Toronto. The mirror cost us $80, but it was VERY much worth it. The bevel, although raises the price, is needed to make the mirror that much more special & makes it sparkle.
And here they are side by side.
Slowly but surely this bathroom is coming together. We love every element, the Delta Dryden faucet and the Kohler Memoirs Toilet & Sink from Lowes. Doing everything on our own has saved us a bundle. Up next is the showerhead. :) See all Bathroom Posts here.
